Checklist: Before Departure to Germany
- Decide when you are going to start work and discuss this with your host institute well in advance
- Put together the most important documents
- Apply for your visa (and those of any members of your family accompanying you) - only if applicable
- Start looking for accomodation in Rostock
- Take out a travel health insurance covering also the first weeks after arrival (also for family members accompanying you)
- If aplicable, inquire about childcare possibilities and schools in Rostock well in advance
